Valentine’s Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship, and admiration. Young couples are very eagerly waiting for this day. Every year on 14 Feb people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to the couples send Valentine’s Day cards and flowers and spend special time together to honour their love for each other.
Generally people thinks that Valentine’s Day is stands for love. While it’s good to show your love towards your well wishers, it’s absolutely bad to show-off that.
Is Valentine’s Day Worth it?
Out of ignorance, youths today are indulge more in useless things like Parties, consuming alcohol, Pub, Disco-Dance, Valentine’s Day, etc. On the other side of it, they consider it a shame to be theistic at their age.
We love our well wishers all through the year. So, what’s the point of expressing it a single day? Nothing the mentality for the western influence is the reason behind giving this much significance to the Valentine’s Day worldwide. It’s just a matter of showing-off now.
To further clarify the point, let’s ponder over some of the Valentine’s Day facts.
Valentine Week List 2020
The Week-long celebration starts with the “Rose Day on 7th Feb and ends with the Valentine’s Day on 14th Feb.
In between these days are falling in 2020 “Rose day: Friday,February 7th 2020”, “Propose Day: Saturday,February 8th 2020”, “Chocolate Day:Sunday,February 9th 2020” , “Teddy Day: Monday, February 10th 2020”, “Promise Day:Tuesday, February 11th 2020”, “Hug Day:Wednesday, February 12th 2020”, “Kiss Day: Thursday, February 13th 2020”, and the last day is “Valentine’s Day: Friday, February 14th 2020”.
The origin of the Valentine’s week celebration is unknown. It is clear that the way it is celebrated these day is arbitrary and only promotes incivility among the society.
Other harms associated with the celebration of Valentine’s Day is that any act of love ruin the happiness of whole families.
||“Kabir Prem prem Sab koi kahe, prem na chinhe koel
Ja marg Sahib mile, Prem kahave Soe”||
Many couples choose to celebrate Valentine’s day with the dinner, picnic, special home-cooked meal, exchanges of Valentine’s Day Gifts, flowers, a luxury hotel stay at some pleasing location, full-night party, drinks, etc.
Apparently it is a complete wastages of money as well as time.
It is also promotes loneliness and depression for those who thinks that it is important to have someone on Valentine’s Day. Additionally, it promotes vulgarity, indecency, and incivility among the society.
Further, the Valentine’s week is increasingly becoming the time for youths to engage in illicit relationships against the wish of their parents. This is wrong! This is immoral! It stirs poison in the society. Nobody can love one as much as one’s parents and God. Our parents raise us with so much expectation from us. But because of our weakness, we lit fire in the family. This increases the restlessness among the society. One should never violate one’s parents. It’s sinful
Respected Saint Garib Dasji has given evidence in his sacred speech that
||Kafir so jo mata de gaari, Kafir so jo pita vachan ultahi, itne Kafir do jakh jahi||
Therefore, we should oblige our parents. This is the real way to spread the peace and love in the society.
As discussed above, the celebration of the Valentine’s Day contributes to nothing good for the society and is rather harmful. The excuse of sharing love is also invalid, since, we don’t need “a day” to celebrate or share our love. Sharing love can’t and shouldn’t be restricted to a single day.
Now consider how much our parents love us irrespective of our age. They try to full fill our every possible demand to keep us happy.
This is unfortunate. Explaining the Importance of doing worship in this invaluable human body, Kabir Sahebji said in a couplet
|| Kabir ,manus janm paye kare, nahi rate hari naam|
Jese Kua jal bina, banavaya kya kaam||
Meaning:- If you do not worship after getting the human life, then your life is like a beautiful well that does not have water in it. Even that well is also named as well, but its characteristic is not as that of a well. Similarly, if a human does not do worship, he is also called a human but he doesn’t have the quality of a huaman.
|| Kabir, manus janm durlabh hai, mile nab arm baar.
Taruver se patta tut gire, bahur na lagta daar.||
Meaning:- Supreme God Kabir Sahebji explained that this human birth(man/woman) is hard to obtain. Once this body is finished, you will not be able to attain this state again. Life after detaching from the tree, the leaf can never be attached in the same state ever on the tree. Hence, value your human body by worshiping the Supreme god in it. Don’t waste it in doing futile things.
